What inspired you to become an account manager?

I’ve worked in a few different industries, and my favorite part (and the part that comes most naturally to me) is building strong relationships with my clients. Being an account manager allows me to focus all of my energy on solving problems, strategizing, and learning everything there is to know about my clients.

What is your approach to providing great customer service?

Remembering that everyone is human, from the part-time interns all the way up to the high-powered executives. I talk to everyone like they’re an old friend, and meet them where they are.

What are some ways that technology has influenced your life?

Technology has made my life more convenient in so many ways: I’m able to message my doctor or my child’s pediatrician instead of scheduling an appointment, I can order absolutely anything and have it delivered the next day instead of going to physical stores, and I’m able to communicate in so many different ways with my friends and family without having to actually leave my house (that last one is *kind of* a joke).

What is a tip you can give to someone that is interested in a similar career path as you?

Never stop asking questions! Learn about your industry from your peers, clients, competitors – everyone around you. If there isn’t anyone to ask, absorb information from any sources you can – podcasts, YouTube, or books.

What are some of your hobbies outside of work?

  1. Anything artsy/craftsy
  2. Disc Golf
  3. Thrifting

What is your favorite movie?

Baby Mama (it’s a Tina Fey – Amy Poehler masterpiece that no one saw)

What is your favorite type of food?

JUNK. Concession stand nachos, pizza, chicken nuggets. I tried to have a nacho cheese fountain (like a chocolate fountain, but better) at my wedding, but had to settle for serving gourmet french fries and sliders instead.

What is your favorite quote?

“Never half-ass two things, whole-ass one thing.”

What is your favorite museum?

The Nelson-Adkins Museum of Art in Kansas City

What is a mobile application you can’t live without?

Google Calendar – if it’s not on my calendar, it isn’t real.
