You can install it from any Google Doc or Slide by clicking on Tools->Get Add-ons and searching for Doc Variables.  Or, you can install it directly from the GSuite Marketplace.

Add your variables to your template docs or slides

Follow the instructions in the sidebar to get started.  Or you can learn more about the different types of variables in our instructions.

Add the variables replacements and save as a new doc

A form will be generated in the sidebar to fill in the values for your variables.  Press the apply button, and follow the instructions to complete the process.

How much does it cost?

The basic features and all of the variables types are currently free.  However, after 20 uses of the product you will be asked to subscribe.  Or… wait until the message disappears.  Individual subscriptions are $5/mo, and domain subscriptions start at $15/mo for 5 users.

Why do I have to authorize permissions to use the app?

Due to the nature of the functionality, there are a few things Doc Variables needs to be able to manage and create documents on Google Drive.  All permissions are based on functional need: ability to copy and save documents, load data from Sheets, and access our own API’s to verify subscriptions.

How do I buy a subscription?

Subscriptions are available in the app.  After 20 uses you should see a message with instructions to make a purchase.  We use Paypal to process and manage payments.  You do not need a Paypal account to subscribe.
